David Reed is a Partner and Executive Vice President for Compliance Solutions at Fortify College Athletics, bringing over 28 years of experience in NCAA Compliance and athletic administration to the team. Throughout his career, Reed has held senior compliance roles at several prominent universities, including the University of Kansas, University of Louisiana-Monroe, Marshall University, University of Miami, and the University of Pittsburgh. He also contributed to compliance efforts at the University of Cincinnati, and Xavier University in a support role.
Reed is a nationally recognized leader in NCAA Compliance, having served on the NCAA Initial Eligibility Committee and the NCAA Interpretations Committee. His dedication to the field extends to extensive committee work with the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) and various conference affiliates. Notably, Reed co-founded the NAAC ACE mentoring program, demonstrating his commitment to developing the next generation of compliance professionals.
Reed is a graduate of the College of Law at Florida State University, where he earned a Juris Master. He also earned a Master of Legal Studies from West Virginia University, a Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Marshall University, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from Kansas State University. Additionally, Reed served as a Combat Engineer in the 4th Division of the United States Marine Corps.
