Ryan McAlvey joined Fortify College Athletics as a consultant in August 2025, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in NCAA compliance and enforcement. He most recently served as an Assistant Director for Enforcement at the NCAA, where he investigated major rules violations and was part of the Academic Integrity Unit. Previously, he held compliance leadership roles at the University of Portland, Columbia University, St. John’s University, the University of Washington, and Saint Louis University.
Throughout his career, McAlvey served on several NCAA committees, including the International Student Initial Eligibility Waiver Subcommittee and the Ivy League’s Amateurism Committee. He also participated in university leadership programs and initiatives focused on NIL and student-athlete support. McAlvey earned his Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.
